Conditions We Treat

Some of the most common conditions we see and treat are the following

If you feel like you have any of these or want some help in treating these conditions, book online now or contact us for some help.

  • Neck pain is a common condition that can be caused by many different things. It will affect most people at some point in their lives.

Common causes of neck pain are:

    • poor posture (the way your body is positioned when standing or sitting)

    • sleeping in an awkward position or with a bad pillow

    • tension in your muscles

    • injury such as a muscle strain or whiplash

    • prolonged use of a comput ror laptop

    • a slipped spinal disc (herniated disc)

  • Golfer's elbow occurs where the tendons of the forearm muscles attach to the bony bump on the inside of the elbow are inflamed and causing pain.

Tennis elbow usually occurs at the bony bump on the outside of the elbow are inflamed and causing pain.

  • Shin splints result when muscles, tendons and bone tissue become overworked. Shin splints often occur in athletes who've recently intensified or changed their training routines.

  • Sciatica happens when irritation, inflammation, pinching or compression affect one or more nerves that run down your lower back and into your legs.

    Symptoms Include

    • Pain running down your leg

    • Burning or Electric Shock

    • Tingling or “pins and needles” down your leg

    • Muscle Weakness

  • Plantar fasciitis is the inflammation of the plantar fascia, tissue in the foot used during walking and foot movement.

Plantar fasciitis can be caused by a number of factors, including type of shoes, foot structure, overuse and types of walking surfaces

  • Tendinitis (also called tendonitis or tendinopathy) is an inflamed tendon. Tendons are the bands of tissue that connect muscles to bones and help the body to move.

Tendinitis can develop in many places in the body but is most common in the shoulder (rotator cuff), elbow (triceps tendon), wrist and ankles (Achilles tendon).

It can be acute (sudden onset), such as tendinitis caused by a sports injury, or chronic (longer term), when a tendon gradually deteriorates, usually due to overuse or repeated movements.

  • TMJ dysfunctions are conditions affecting your jaw joints and surrounding muscles and ligaments. These conditions can cause several issues, including jaw pain, headaches and difficulty opening and closing your mouth.

Things that can make TMJ worse are

    • Using your teeth as tools (like tearing off clothing tags).

    • Poor posture. (This can place excess pressure on your neck, shoulder and facial muscles.)

    • Chewing on pens, pencils or other items (a common “nervous habit” behavior).

    • Chewing on ice or excessively chewing gum.

    • Taking big bites of food. (This can overwork your jaw muscles.)

    • Daytime teeth clenching or grinding.

    • Sleeping on your stomach.

  • Back pain is one of the most common reasons people seek medical help or miss work. Back pain is a leading cause of disability worldwide.

The causes of back pain are not fully understood. Most people with back pain don’t have any significant damage to their spine. The pain comes from the muscles, ligaments and joints.

Common causes of back pain include:

    • repetitive or heavy lifting (manual handling)

    • sudden awkward movement

    • not getting enough regular physical activity (being sedentary)

    • poor posture

    • being overweight or obese

    • stress – muscle tension.

Fortunately, measures can help prevent or relieve most back pain episodes, especially for people younger than age 60. If prevention fails, simple home treatment and using the body correctly often will heal the back within a few weeks.
